Hi, I'm Lauren.
I'm a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist that has been supporting my clients to improve their speech, literacy, language, and learning skills in private practice for over a decade.
I’m passionate about delivering fun, flexible, and evidence-based intervention so that therapy doesn't feel like a chore to complete and results in excellent outcomes.
I’m also a big believer in the benefits of telehealth. I believe it opens the door to a more authentic style of intervention that can take place in a natural, more relaxed environment. Online therapy is flexible, accessible, and convenient for families; bringing high-quality support right into the comfort of your own home.
My Story
I graduated from the University of Queensland in 2014 with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology and have spent the past 10+ years working as a speech pathologist supporting children with a wide range of speech, literacy, and learning goals.
I began my career in a small beach town in Queensland, where I worked with a wide range of clients, from infants to young adults. This experience gave me a strong foundation in providing engaging, individualised therapy that supports tangible progress.
I later moved to a large city to work in private practice where I was heavily involved in supporting students within schools. This allowed me to develop a strong understanding of the school curriculum and work closely with teachers to implement strategies and interventions that help students succeed in the classroom and at home.
During COVID, I learnt to transition to online therapy and quickly discovered how much I loved telehealth. I saw firsthand how effective, flexible, and convenient it could be for families. I was surprised by how interactive and beneficial online therapy could be.
I went on to work for a Melbourne-based company providing online therapy to a vast array of clients with literacy and learning difficulties. This experience sharpened my approach to delivering high quality online support for struggling students.
Now, I’m excited to bring the benefits of teletherapy directly to you. Combining over a decade of experience with a genuine passion for online therapy, my goal is to make high quality speech pathology support accessible, engaging, and effective for every family I work with.

How I Make Online Therapy Fun
There's a lot of misinformation out there that teletherapy is not as effective as face-to-face therapy. This couldn't be further from the truth. Teletherapy can be just as fun, engaging, and effective as traditional therapy approaches. Here's how I like to make learning online fun!

-
Playing interactive games in line with therapy goals. For example, if your child is practising their 's' sound, we might practise some 's' words in single words and then take a turn on a game of their choice (see image).
-
For older students, offering greater control around their preferred therapy tasks and goals. The student can choose what areas they would like to improve on and I will tailor our goals to match their preferences.
-
Utilising 'brain breaks' to reduce learning fatigue. Research shows that having regular breaks between intense learning periods assists with memory retention. Students can opt to complete a game of their choice between learning-intensive tasks.
